Boy an unlikely pitching duel to say the least. Rookie Travis Wood making his third major league start ever had something special working. He retired 24 straight batters in the game. That’s correct, he had a perfect game through 8 innings. going into the 9th, leadoff hitter Carlos Ruiz got a fat pitch right over the plate a drove it into the left-center gap for a double. Wood held the Phillies scoreless and held them to 1 hit in 9 innings. Not to be forgotten Roy Halladay had impressive gem working too. Halladay scattered 5 hits among 9 shutout innings. Both pitchers were promptly removed following pitching in the ninth. After Brad Lidge got out of a bases loaded jam in the 10th the stage was set the next inning for  Jimmy Rollins who drove in the go ahead run with a walk-off single, Ruiz also had another double that inning.
